Samsung Unveils New AI-Powered Home Appliances

Samsung recently introduced a range of new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered home appliances at its Welcome to Bespoke AI event. The event, which took place in three different locations – Seoul, Paris, and New York City, showcased the innovative products that are set to hit the market. This marks a significant milestone for the South Korean tech giant as it integrates AI technology into its products to enhance user experience.

Each of the three event locations featured unique product lineups, with Seoul boasting the largest variety of products at 14. Some of the key products unveiled at the event include the Bespoke French Door Refrigerator with AI Family Hub, Bespoke Infinite Induction Line, Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI, and Bespoke Jet AI. These products come equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, internal cameras, AI chips, and compatibility with the SmartThings application.

Samsung also introduced several new features to complement its AI-powered appliances. One notable addition is the AI Home, a 7-inch LCD panel that provides easy access and control over the entire connected ecosystem. Users can control multiple appliances from the panel, play music, watch media, and access recipes while cooking. Another feature, Mobile Smart Connect, allows for seamless interaction with registered appliances via a smartphone. Users receive alerts when their phone is in close proximity to the appliances, enabling quick access to key functions.

In addition to these new features, Samsung showcased product-specific innovations at the event. For instance, the Bespoke refrigerator features AI vision technology that can identify 33 fresh food items using an internal camera. It can then suggest recipes based on the items stored inside. The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI, a robot vacuum cleaner, is capable of recognizing various objects such as humans, pets, phone cables, rugs, and mats. It can adjust cleaning settings based on the surface type and efficiently clean different areas.

One of the most significant developments is Samsung’s integration of generative AI capabilities into its native voice assistant, Bixby. This enhanced AI integration enables Bixby to understand complex sentences, contextual requests, and multi-layered tasks. For example, users can make nuanced requests like “the living room feels humid,” and Bixby will analyze the context and provide relevant solutions.

Samsung’s introduction of AI-powered home appliances represents a major leap forward in the realm of smart technologies. With innovative features, product-specific advancements, and enhanced AI integration, Samsung is poised to revolutionize the way we interact with our home appliances. This significant milestone underscores the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that elevate the consumer experience.
